The Mudville classes are mixed level and mixed activity. A class may have people who have been at the studio for years, experienced people new to Mudville and people new to clay. People may be throwing, handbuilding, or glazing. We welcome beginners!
Beginners get most of the teacher's attention (they need it!) and exposure to what the more advanced students are creating. There's no pressure to keep up because you learn at your own pace. Experienced people get help in problem solving.
Classes are three hours long. Practice is available during the day and on weekends as well as before class and afterwards. The classes are primarily for adults.
The class fee is $325 for 10 weeks (one class weekly). Classes are offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 and Saturday morning from 10:00 to 1:00. Stoneware clay, glazes and tools are provided. The first 10 pounds of finished pottery is included in the class fee. A fee of $1.50 per pound is charged for all additional fired work. Continuing students have access to the studio between terms.
